  • Secret to keeping swimwear looking great, don't put it in the dryer
As part of our collaboration with Radimo's Dan Owens-Ried, we asked her to pick names of beaches that meant something special. The Montrose top is named after where Dan grew up.

In their own words, "I grew up kind of all over, lived in 11 cities before I was 9 years old (those are just the ones I can remember). I say I grew up in South Carolina because it's the longest we stayed in one place, most of memeories are of SC, and my dad is still there - that's where I visit when I go home. Chicago is where I say I did my real growing up. In 2008, at 21 years old I moved there to pursue all my comedy dreams. Being on my own for the first time, being a queer kid in a big city for the first time, figuring out how to pay bills, rent an apartment, film a web-series, start a band, everything I wanted to do I just figured out how to do on my own. Chicago is one of my favorite cities in the world. I could walk to Montrose Beach from my first apartment and it's still one of the chillest ones to take a walk on when I go back to visit. I miss it every day."

This is one of our most androgynous cut swim tops we've designed. With a gender-neutral cut and mesh details, it can be worn by anyone and always look amazing.

When picking a size, we recommend you use our size chart for guidance. If you're looking for maximum compression and you fall between sizes, we recommend you go with the smaller size. Remember, this is not a binder, it's a compression top designed and made to swim and be active in.
Size & Fit Guide

How do I know my size?

It took us a lot of research and a lot of testing on a lot of bodies in different shapes and sizes to come up with the sizing and fit for all of Outplay’s swimwear and sportswear. As much as we believe we’ve created really well thought-out and meticulously measured sizing system for our gender neutral clothing, we know not every style is right for every body type. Because of this, we’re constantly adding new cuts and styles giving you as many options possible for any fit. As we continue to grow, we will be adding more styles, sizes and designs that can fit your body and give you the comfort and confidence you’ve come to expect from Outplay.

All measurements refer to body size, not garment dimensions. Because our sizing is different from most traditional clothing companies, we suggest you use our size charts as a guide. The size you normally wear doesn’t necessarily translate into Outplay sizing exactly the same.

If you’re between sizes, we suggest you size up for t-shirts and sweatshirts, and go for the smaller size for sweatpants and tights.

Compression

When it comes to compression tops, it all depends on the level of compression you are looking for. If you’re looking for maximum compression and you fall between sizes, go for the smaller size. Always keep in mind our compression tops do stretch as they are made of spandex and spandex mixes and other stretchable fabrics. They are not traditional binders and their hold will never be as pronounced or as rigid as that of a traditional binder. They are made to be worn while swimming and being active, and can be worn for long periods of time without causing any harm to your body.

How to measure yourself

We always recommend you get someone to help you take your measurements. It’s easier and you get more accurate and precise measurements this way. If you take your own measurements, we recommend you do it in front of a mirror so you can have a better view of how you’re measuring everything all the way around.

CHEST:

With your arms relaxed and down your side, measure around the fullest part of your chest. Make sure to keep the measuring tape horizontal. Get a full measurement without tightening the measuring tape around you.

WAIST:

Measure around your natural waistline (the narrowest point of your upper body). Make sure to keep the measuring tape horizontal and don’t tighten it.

HIPS:

Measure around your hip bones which are at the widest point of your hip section.

INSEAM:

Measure the inside length of your leg, from your crotch down.

*inseam refers to the length of the garment, from the crotch seam to the hem. You can find style specific inseam details on each product page description.
**These are sizing guidelines. Please take your body measurements to determine you most accurate size.

If you’re on the borderline between two sizes, order the smaller size for a tighter fit or stronger compression. Choose the larger size for a looser fit. When it comes to compression tops a looser fit will not allow the compression materials to do their job.
