Description
You're tired of wearing a sports bra and an oversize t-shirt to the beach; it gets wet, its heavy and clings to your body in all the wrong places. That's no fun and who looks good in that? Imagine wearing a tank top that holds everything in and doesn't weigh you down so you can splash around, jog at the edge of the ocean, and go to your favorite hangout without a worry in the world. This full coverage compression top covers what you want covered and holds in everything you need to keep flat. This fully lined top comes in low compression or high compression.
  • Fully lined
  • 85% Polyester 15% spandex
  • Machine wash in cold water
The Flatsea is our first androgynous-cut full coverage sleeveless swimwear top. The neckline is cut high to avoid any cleavage. The armholes are cut close to the body in order to avoid any side skin. Shoulder straps are about 1" wide and measures 10" in length when measured from the bottom of the armhole to the hem (can vary a bit depending on size). The entire top is cut with little to no curvature as to not accentuate the body's curves, giving it a more androgynous look on most bodies. The Flatsea is available in two different compression levels, low and high compression levels. The difference between compression levels is determined by the mesh material built into the top. Low compression only has the compressing material in the front and high compression has the compressing material both in the front and the back of this gender neutral swimwear top.

When picking a size, we recommend you use our size chart for guidance. If you're looking for maximum compression from your Flatsea and you fall between sizes, we recommend you go with the smaller size. It should never fit too tight but it must fit nice and snug for the compression materials to be able to do their job properly.

Remember, this is not a binder, it's a compression top designed and made to swim and be active in. For more info on how we create the compression in our tops, please read this post on our blog.

Size & Fit Guide

How do I know my size?

It took us a lot of research and a lot of testing on a lot of bodies in different shapes and sizes to come up with the sizing and fit for all of Outplay’s swimwear and sportswear. As much as we believe we’ve created really well thought-out and meticulously measured sizing system for our gender neutral clothing, we know not every style is right for every body type. Because of this, we’re constantly adding new cuts and styles giving you as many options possible for any fit. As we continue to grow, we will be adding more styles, sizes and designs that can fit your body and give you the comfort and confidence you’ve come to expect from Outplay.

All measurements refer to body size, not garment dimensions. Because our sizing is different from most traditional clothing companies, we suggest you use our size charts as a guide. The size you normally wear doesn’t necessarily translate into Outplay sizing exactly the same.

If you’re between sizes, we suggest you size up for t-shirts and sweatshirts, and go for the smaller size for sweatpants and tights.

Compression

When it comes to compression tops, it all depends on the level of compression you are looking for. If you’re looking for maximum compression and you fall between sizes, go for the smaller size. Always keep in mind our compression tops do stretch as they are made of spandex and spandex mixes and other stretchable fabrics. They are not traditional binders and their hold will never be as pronounced or as rigid as that of a traditional binder. They are made to be worn while swimming and being active, and can be worn for long periods of time without causing any harm to your body.

How to measure yourself

We always recommend you get someone to help you take your measurements. It’s easier and you get more accurate and precise measurements this way. If you take your own measurements, we recommend you do it in front of a mirror so you can have a better view of how you’re measuring everything all the way around.

CHEST:

With your arms relaxed and down your side, measure around the fullest part of your chest. Make sure to keep the measuring tape horizontal. Get a full measurement without tightening the measuring tape around you.

WAIST:

Measure around your natural waistline (the narrowest point of your upper body). Make sure to keep the measuring tape horizontal and don’t tighten it.

HIPS:

Measure around your hip bones which are at the widest point of your hip section.

INSEAM:

Measure the inside length of your leg, from your crotch down.

*inseam refers to the length of the garment, from the crotch seam to the hem. You can find style specific inseam details on each product page description.
**These are sizing guidelines. Please take your body measurements to determine you most accurate size.

If you’re on the borderline between two sizes, order the smaller size for a tighter fit or stronger compression. Choose the larger size for a looser fit. When it comes to compression tops a looser fit will not allow the compression materials to do their job.
